Things to realize before applying
Of course nothing is perfect in this world, neither is volunteering at C.E.P. Before applying please take the following issues into consideration and think if you can come to terms with them:
- The C.E.P. school is evolving all the time. This means that the above text might be different from the reality you encounter.
Also, thay are very dedicated and well meaning but not always the most efficient and well-organized. Some volunteers find it frustrating that its not as well organized as a well run 'western world' school.
Can you cope with a bit of uncertainty, inefficiency and sometimes chaos? - Of all the volunteer sites this one is perhaps the one that works with the poorest children. Can you stand the shock of working with kids who have so much less possibilities and possessions than you?
Perhaps you can even bring some things or raise some funds to help -but this is not required or expected.
